Hey There Wild One
I'm AJ and I Create Patterns & Illustrations Available to License for Drinkware & Gifts.
One of my favorite ways to connect with others is over a cuppa (coffee, tea, the odd mug full of tequila-you know as one does). That is why I ADORE designing drinkware. It fosters connection, and REAL TALK here, our world is in desperate need of more connection.

My Story
I'm a passionate & playful Mixed-Media Artist and Surface Pattern Designer. I've been painting since I could pick up a brush over 25 years ago and designing patterns for 8 years.
As much as I loved art in high school, the idea of having it be my career just didn't occur to me. I grew up in a blue-collar community. Art wasn't a "real" job and you certainly couldn't make a living with it (despite it being literally everywhere as well as integral to our way of life and our connection to each other).
So, I drug myself into the corporate world and into a "respectable" marriage because that is what we are supposed to do. During my 20's I suppressed so much of myself that looking back it was hard to see the real me at all. I was struggling so much during that time that I decided to start sketching again. I learned how to digitalize my art and in doing so I stumbled upon this incredible art form called Surface Pattern Design. It was like something in my soul shifted back into place.
Since that day, I have been unmade and unraveled many times. Through divorce, a global pandemic, and a mental breakdown I almost didn't survive. But I did. Though it was extremely painful and hard, I was given the gift of remaking myself, remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.
Amongst many other things, I am an artist and always have been. My art has brought me home to myself over and over again and it is a great honor to be able to share that art with you today.
Education & Community
I love to learn and connect. While I did not go to art school, I have taken many art courses throughout my life and am always taking more. Below are some of my favorites!
